Rock Island, in conjunction with Bettendorf and Davenport Public Libraries, are once again working together to offer bulk shredding during Community Shred Days that help the public safely dispose of personal documents. Provided by Document Destruction and Recycling Services of Davenport, the Main Library Shred Day is:

Wednesday, April 22 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Rock Island Main Library downtown, 401- 19^th Street

Another Shred Day is scheduled for Saturday at the Southwest Branch. Items will not be shredded at the library for security purposes. Document Destruction and Recycling Services is a bonded offsite shredder that has achieved special certification to shred the most confidential of documents, such as those from the banking and medical industries. It is a division of City Carton.
