MONARCH MONDAY
We will be reading My Dog Is as Smelly as Dirty Socks: And Other Funny Family Portraits by Hanoch Piven and doing a craft related to the book.
The Monarch Award is an Illinois Children's Choice award for children in grades K - 3rd. The award is designed to encourage children to read as well as expose them to outstanding children's books, authors and illustrators.
*Next Monarch Monday is October 26th.

The Teen Advisory Board will meet October 1st from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Main Library.
The Board is open to anyone grades 6-12 (ages 11-18) to talk about upcoming programs for teens, books, movies, and other things of interest. The Advisory Board helps the Young Adult Librarian make the Library a place for teens.

The Rock Island Public Library Foundation invites you to a special fundraising benefit and silent auction for your Rock Island Library. Missing it would be a crime!

Wordle is a computer program for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

Drop off your favorite action toy or fashion doll by 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 16th. Your toy will have a wonderful sleepover at the library with lots of activities and fun.
Come back at 9:00 Saturday, October 17th to see what they did while you were asleep!
