MONARCH MONDAY
For ages K - 3 at the Main Library.
We will be reading Chicks and Salsa by Aaron Reynolds and doing a craft related to the book.
The Monarch Award is an Illinois Children's Choice award for children in grades K - 3rd. The award is designed to encourage children to read as well as expose them to outstanding children's books, authors and illustrators.
*Next Monarch Monday is December 14th.

Enjoy a good movie at the Main Rock Island Public Library. Each month a significant Independent Film will be shown in the Community Room of the Main Library–401 19th Street–in downtown Rock Island. All showings will begin at 6:00 p.m. They are free and open to the public. This month’s feature is “In Love We Trust (China, 115 min). A divorced couple learns that the only way to save their little daughter Hehe, who suffers from a blood disease, is to have another child. Now both remarried, Mei Zhu and Xiao Lu are forced to test their love and their commitment to one another by putting their current relationships in danger. A story of parenthood, love, married life, betrayal, trust and giving, which touches upon changes in contemporary society and family life, as well as the moral and ethical dilemmas brought on by modernity. Please be advised that none of these films are rated and some may not be suitable for children.
