"Wood and Words", a unique combination of two and three-dimensional artist works by Amy Nielsen and Bill Wohlford is the featured show at the Rock Island Public Library, during September and October. The show will be open for viewing between Sept. 10 and Oct. 30, 2010. A collaborative, signature piece done expressly for this show combines a contemporary blend of realism, expressionism and the beauty of the written word in a work titled "A World of Words". Open to the public during library hours, the show is on the second floor rotunda of the Main Library, 401 19th Street, Rock Island. Start: 11:30 am
End: 1:00 pm
The Friends of the Rock Island Library meet at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Rock Island, corner of 31st Avenue and 30th Street. Lunch is $6. Reservations required. Call Sue Bjorkman, 786-5909. Start: 3:00 pm
