"Wood and Words", a unique combination of two and three-dimensional artist works by Amy Nielsen and Bill Wohlford is the featured show at the Rock Island Public Library, during September and October. The show will be open for viewing between Sept. 10 and Oct. 30, 2010.

A collaborative, signature piece done expressly for this show combines a contemporary blend of realism, expressionism and the beauty of the written word in a work titled "A World of Words". Open to the public during library hours, the show is on the second floor rotunda of the Main Library, 401 19th Street, Rock Island. 

Alpha Book Discussion Group meets September 13 at 3 p.m. in the Community Room on the 2nd floor of the Main Library to discuss The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley.
