Warm Up with Winter Reading

Join our winter reading foxes Merry, Berry, Blizzard, and Crystal in warming up January and February with great winter reads!  The library’s all-ages reading challenge starts January 14, 2023 via the library’s Beanstack website and mobile app. You'll earn digital badges for meeting pre-set reading and activity goals. This challenge is open to children of any age, teens, and adults. Winter is the perfect time to read together as a family!

Earn at least 10 badges of any type to earn a Winter Reading Champ badge and enter drawings, but keep going if you like! Each badge you earn equals a digital ticket to enter into online prize basket drawings. Make sure you have your reading minutes and activities logged by February 25. You'll have until March 3 to enter any tickets you've earned into a specific prize basket drawing. After that, we'll draw and notify winners. Each prize basket will include one of our winter reading fox mascots.

Our theme, 150 Winters, recognizes the library's 150th anniversary. The minutes you log will help us reach our community goal - 150,000 minutes.

Using Beanstack: To log into our Beanstack site click HERE. Or, visit your favorite app store for the Beanstack Tracker mobile app that makes it easy to track reading goals for the whole family, wherever you are!

If you've used Beanstack before, log in with your email and Beanstack password. (If you've forgotten it, there's a password reset.) For more information, just look for our Reading Fox display at library service desks.

150 Things to Do At Your Library activity badge: The full checklist of 150 ideas is available at all Rock Island Public Library locations. It's attached to the Winter Reading event on our calendar. If you'd like a copy by email, just call our Reference Department at 309-732-7341.
