Painting is completed at our Southwest Branch, but we're still putting things back! Our Children's Area at Southwest will be unavailable for browsing until Tuesday, Dec. 16. If you need something from that area, please ask staff for assistance.

Event Details

Enjoy tasty BBQ while browsing for gently used books.  Eudell Watts III presents a family-friendly event in conjunction with Second Saturday, held in Arts Alley/Iconic Event Center. Caricatures, live music, games and prizes. 

Booksale portion: 10 am to 4 pm, no ticket required. 

BBQ Fundraiser: Noon to 4 pm. Purchase ticket to guarantee food and a seat inside the Iconic Events Center.  RSVP and pay via Eventbrite. Your ticket of $50 includes unlimited BBQ, fixings, and supplied drinks.  Raffles and 50/50 availlable - see an event volunteer! bit.ly/4meULd0

Limited walk-up menu & children's menu available at the event only while supplies last. 

Additional fun during the day: 

Silent auction includes a chance at tickets to a Chicago Blackhawks or White Sox game (date TBD,) beverage wagon, and more!

Free family games to play in the Arts Alley courtyard, plus: 

•    At noon -- Ballet Quad Cities presents Dance Me a Story performance of Vampirina Ballerina
•    At 1 pm - Local musician John Phillips performs 
•    Throughout day - Caricatures by Bill Douglas of Draw Me Bill (10 am to 11:30 am) and local artist Leo Kelly (Noon to 3 pm.) Caricature drawings available for a donation of just $10. 
 

All proceeds benefit the Lorene Evans Watts Children's Book Fund at the Rock Island Public Library. Sponsored by Rock Island Public Library Foundation.
