In order to allow all staff to attend a morning training meeting, Rock Island Public Library locations will open at noon on Friday, February 6. 

There will be no storytime this Friday at the Watts-Midtown Branch.

Event Details

This presentation conveys the stories of some of the most talented, brave, and resourceful women of their generation, the only female air force to appear in combat in World War 2. Join them in their missions by night above the dangerous killing fields of Russia. Many sacrificed their lives while becoming the highest decorated regiment in the Soviet Union. The young Russian women (they were mostly 18 to 23) who lost their lives during those years left behind an amazing legacy.
