Program Description

Event Details

Would you like to know where to find some of the free genealogy websites that may provide information about your ancestors? Perhaps you would like to start your journey toward discovering your family tree. Maybe you were just toying with the idea but not certain how to go forward with it or if you even could pursue it.

This could be a place to begin.  This program is actually a hands-on workshop that will give you some ideas of where to find the free databases that are just waiting for you to look into.  In this workshop you will be using the library's laptops, or you may use your own computer wherever you have an internet connection.  These websites are available at no cost at all to you as a patron or researcher.

The workshop will last for most of an hour with the goal of getting you into the database and learning some basics on how to get started using it.

Registration is required and limited to 10 registrants; there will be a small waitlist in case their are openings close to time.

For questions, please email shearouse.james@rigov.org or call the desk in the Historical Room at 309-732-7352.
