John Deere -- the King of tractor companies.

From a small blacksmith shop in Illinois to becoming a global symbol of farming innovation, John Deere’s story is one of hard work, invention, and perseverance. Discover how a simple polished-steel plow changed agriculture forever and built one of the most trusted names in the world. Learn the entire history of John Deere — from its humble beginnings to modern-day dominance.

Then enjoy a couple of video clips of historic “firsts” models of Deere related tractors: a 1923 Waterloo Boy Model N kept in unrestored, original condition (Deere bought the company) and a still-working model of the first Deere crawler tractor manufactured in 195l.

You’ll enjoy refreshing your memories by walking through the history of this world renowned company headquartered right here in Rock Island’s neighborhood.
