The Rock Island Public Library is celebrating Summer Learning with our partners.  

Young children and their caregivers are invited to enjoy this story time full of short books, action rhymes and songs.

For ages 0 - 5 years old.

Children Staff will be at the park presenting stories and activities for Rock Island Skip-Along Learning Center

The Absolute Science's scientist will expose you to chemical reactions. They walk you through how heat can create sound, get to play with HIGHLY FLAMMABLE powder and get messy with ink.

Paper quilling, also known as filigree, is an art form that has been practiced since the early 15th century. Join us for this Introduction Level class taught by a local expert! No prior experience required.

Do your toddlers love to get messy?  Bring them to Petite Picassos where they can use all of their senses with hands on art.  We will take care of the mess as they create their masterpieces.  

Saadia Faruqi is a Pakistani American author and interfaith activist. She writes the popular children’s early reader series “Yasmin” and other books for children, including chapter books, graphic novels, and picture books.

A Children's Librarian and the Mobile Library will be at Longview Park sharing children's stories and an activity.

Join us for an afternoon of dissection! This hands-on activity covers basic skills and tools (we'll provide equipment and samples), and this event will be presented by science educator Andrea Martinez.

Every parent can use a little extra support now and then. Join us, as EveryChild staff lead this month's parenting class on

Play, Brains, Bodies & Bonding.  Light refreshments provided. Please register if possible. 

Is your school age child looking for some way to express their creativity?  A craft will be offered during the Southwest Craft Night in the children's area.

Join us for a special book club in honor of our 150th anniversary! This evening book club is held seasonally at our new Watts-Midtown Branch throughout 2023.
