Big News! Downtown Restroom Renovation

1st floor restrooms (on the main floor) of our Downtown Library will be unavailable for a few months due to major renovations.

Ground Floor restrooms (off the accessible entrance and Children's Room) and 2nd floor public restrooms will be available during all library hours. 

Microfilm services are available on the table across from the Reference Desk.

Level Up at Your Library this Summer with Free Reading Fun & Events for All Ages, June 1 through July 31! 

  • Registration, half-way, and finish prizes at ALL levels.
  • Fun for all ages - children, teens, and adults. All reading counts, including stories you hear.
  • Anyone can enter our summer reading challenge. (And yes, you can enter at more than one library!)
  • Track your reading online or with the Beanstack app, or on a paper reading log. Staff can help!
  • It's OK to estimate time. We KNOW you're reading, so earn credit. Your minutes will help us Level Up to 500,000 minutes of community reading!
  • In a hurry? Log without a title. Your minutes still count. 

Earn points toward badges and prizes! 

5 points equals a half-way prize; 10 equals a finishing prize. Keep reading and logging to Level Up your minutes! 

  • Start picking up prizes at any location starting June 16.
  • Finish online or paper logging by July 31, 2025.
  • Pick up prizes at any Rock Island Public Library.
  • Make sure you pick up all your earned prizes by August 6.
