During National Library Week, the American Libraries Association releases its "State of American Libraries" Report. Not to be outdone, here's the state of your local Rock Island Public Library, in the form of our Annual Outcomes Report for 2025. Our state is good, with work progressing well on:
- Meeting several goals of our 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, released in January 2025,
- Realizing more than 1.3 million (*yes, million!) total services used.
- Paying off our portion of the Watts-Midtown Branch debt,
- Offering more than 800 on-site programs (a 9% increase)
- Serving more than 82,913 attendees of both on-site and off-site programs (a 40% increase)
- Achieving our highest number of library cardholders in more than six years, at 17,914 active cards,
- Increasing use of collections overall. Notable gainers:
- Library of Things use, up 48%
- Print collections, up 5%
- All non-print (videos, etc.): Up 21%
- Digital materials: up 23%
