Program Description

Event Details

A two-part extended class for adult beginners offered at no charge to you. If you've ever wondered if you could make a quilt, here's your chance to explore the hobby. Registrants must attend both classes. You will need to complete some homework between sessions!

In class one, you'll learn basic skills, and make two different blocks. Between class 1 & 2, you'll make the rest of the blocks needed to build the top of a 55-to-58" lap quilt or wall hanging. In class 2, you'll learn how to assemble those blocks, add borders, and discuss the future steps of quilting and binding your piece.

Library sewing machines and suitable fabric will be available. If you wish to purchase your own fabric, please see the attached supply list. To ensure results, the instructor recommends buying good quality, 100-percent cotton.  If you would like to use your own sewing machine, please bring it and the manual with you.

Special instructions for registrants bringing their own sewing machine or fabric:

  • Please use the special notes field of the registration form to indicate that you'll have your own sewing machine and/or fabric.

For adults 18 and up only.

We recommend that you pack a sack lunch that does not require reheating.  Water, coffee, and hot tea will be provided. Soft drinks with a lid may be brought in.
