Watts-Midtown Driveway Work

Work began this morning on repairing the driveway leading into our Watts-Midtown Branch and the RI YMCA. Please note that there is one lane in and out of the parking lot. Please alternate when entering or leaving the lot, and note that there is no left hand turn onto the drive off 30th Street. 

Remember that you can return items to any Rock Island Library, even if it was checked out at the branch. Miss Ranell's Friday storytime will move to our Downtown Children's Library for Friday. Thank you for your patience as the YMCA repairs this driveway.

Event Details

As we await the opening of our new branch, we have reduced hours for the bookmobile. We are fully open for entry and browsing, masks encouraged, but not required.

You can also continue to pick up holds and have us choose items for you with Mobile Library2Go Curbside on Thursdays, select another location for pick up on a different day, or call Carol Anne (309-732-7335) for homebound delivery! 

Curbside service: Place an item on hold and we will call you when your item is ready. We will schedule an appointment with you at the stop you prefer! Then simply drive to your stop at the set time, call the number on our sign (309-989-5450) and let us load your items into your car.

This route schedule is in effect indefinitely as we await the opening of our Watts-Midtown branch.                                      We have 4 stops on Thursdays. They are: 

  • 10:00-11:00am ~ St. George Greek Orthodox Church. However, this Thursday, January 5th due to a funeral at St. George, we will park at the First Baptist Church of Rock Island located at 3020 30th St. from 10-11 am
  • 1:00-2:00pm ~ Advanced Auto Parts/38th St and 18th Ave
  • 2:30-3:30pm ~ Centennial Shelter Park-Big Island
  • 4:00-5:00pm ~ MLK Center
